About the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art

About the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art

The Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art traces its beginnings to a traveling exhibition brought to Tulsa by B’nai Emunah Synagogue in 1965. The following year, the Gershon and Rebecca Fenster Gallery of Jewish Art opened to the public, and its first curator, Sherwin Miller, began collecting Jewish art and artifacts. The museum took his name in 2000.

Its Judaica collection includes archaeological artifacts and contemporary art by Tulsa-based artists. The Sanditen/Kaiser Holocaust Center presents stories and objects brought to Oklahoma by Holocaust refugees in a chronological account of the Holocaust.
